As a result of recent service reviews an opportunity has arisen within Stockton Borough Council’s Community Services department for a Waste Strategy Officer.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to help shape and promote the Council’s waste and recycling services for the residents, businesses and visitors of the borough. The role will require you to positively contribute in a customer focused environment where we never lose sight of the fact we are here to serve the people of Stockton on Tees.
As the Waste Strategy Officer you will have a key role in supporting delivery of a number of important projects including a new waste disposal contract, a new Household Waste Recycling Centre contract and, implementing the outcomes of the Resources and Waste Strategy for England (2018) and the national consultations on consistency in collections, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Deposit Return Scheme (DRS)
The role will also help support the councils ambitious Environmental Sustainability and Carbon Reduction Strategy 2022-2032 where you will champion the councils delivery of day to day waste, recycling and waste minimisation initiatives and develop current reuse, repair and upcycling projects.
The role will also be required to work closely with the Operations department in delivering Stockton Borough Councils essential front line services.
